As a mother, I will never give up on my child. As a mother of a child who has autism, I will never give up hope.
I look into his eyes and I see all the potential that he has to offer to this beautiful world and I just know that one day the world can see what I see.

Introducing autism

I think the part I always dread the most is introducing autism. Maybe ‘dread’ is the wrong word to use, but hopefully you get what I mean.

“Hi, my name is Tanaya, this is my husband, Daniel, and this is our son, Bryce.” And then there’s always that slight pause, a little moment, where I ask myself, ‘Should I mention to this person that Bryce has autism or not?’

I guess it just depends on the situation.

  1. I always feel the same quandary, and I'm sure that I'm totally inconsistent in how I handle it. Read Bryce's story...we had exactly the same experience teaching my daughter how to walk. Seems like we are in the minority, but gross motor delays were our first clue that something wasn't right. I'm your newest follower!

  2. @Lynn Hi Lynn, welcome, and thanks for joining! Thank you for sharing that with us, I know that we're not alone, but it's always comforting to hear that someone else experienced the same things as us.

We hope you enjoy our blogs, and thank you again for your support!
