As a mother, I will never give up on my child. As a mother of a child who has autism, I will never give up hope.
I look into his eyes and I see all the potential that he has to offer to this beautiful world and I just know that one day the world can see what I see.

Teach. Love. Inspire. Hope.

Today we celebrated autism awareness at a Starbucks in downtown Squamish, British Columbia, Canada.

There was a table set up where you could colour an autism awareness ribbon, get your face painted by Brazen Pirate Face Painting, or learn more about autism from the team at Autism Society of British Columbia.

Bryce was all smiles as he was getting a blue puzzle piece painted on his arm (with glitter!) Thanks, Lizzy the Pirate from Brazen Pirate Face Painting.

It was really nice talking to everyone from Autism Society of British Columbia. They are an incredibly awesome team to have at any event to help promote autism awareness. They provided a ton of information and are just real people who understand autism and are there for you and your community.

Thank you, Starbucks, for hosting this event and bringing your community together in support of autism awareness!!!!!

I want you to know that it is absolutely beautiful that you were willing to TEACH your community about autism awareness, acceptance, and understanding. How much you LOVE and support your community enough to do this for them and hopefully INSPIRE many more autism awareness events throughout your community. And I personally HOPE this is something you will continue every year.

Always fight for what you believe! Always be the best advocate for your child! Always make things right!

“One of the most inspirational moments”

Tonight I had the privilege of sharing my story at the YVR Bloggers Meetup. I was so nervous speaking to the group but everyone was so great and supportive it made me smile.

[VIDEO] Sharing my story at the YVR Bloggers Meetup

Everyone was very supportive and compassionate.

One of the most inspirational moments of tonight’s YVR Bloggers Meetup was hearing Tanaya from Bubbles Make Him Smile share about how she raises money to support her son Bryce who has autism. All of our bloggers had tears in their eyes hearing Tanaya’s passion for her son!!

Make sure you support Tanaya’s mission by following her blog and buying a bubble gun at: https://www.bubblesmakehimsmile.com/

- Ricky Shetty, DaddyBlogger.com

I’d like to thank Ricky Shetty from DaddyBlogger.com for giving us a sponsor table at the meetup to sell our bubble blowers and an opportunity to speak at the event and talk about BubblesMakeHimSmile.com

Special thanks to everyone at YVR Bloggers for your continued support! We really appreciate it.

First Ever Bikers For Autism Festival

Today marked the first ever Bikers For Autism (BFA) Festival, presented by Barnes Harley Davidson, as a kick-off to Bikers For Autism’s two-week charity ride to California. We had the honour of being part of it!

Bikers For Autism started as a passionate father and son team (John and James Baker) that strive to make a difference in the lives of children, adults, and families across Canada affected by Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Inspired by a close family member’s journey to raise their six-year old son diagnosed with autism and driven by the chance to fulfill a life long dream of riding across the country on Harleys, Bikers For Autism set out on a 43 day mission in 2012 to spread their message of awareness across an entire country. Backed by the support of Autism Speaks Canada, Barnes Harley Davidson, Lords Of Gastown, Music Heals, and Red Truck Brewery, these two Bikers were able to make a far bigger impact then they ever thought possible.

Extremely huge thanks to James Baker, founder of Bikers for Autism, for having us at his event. We blew bubbles and sold our bubble blowers with partial proceeds benefiting Bikers for Autism and we were very happy to be a part of James journey!

Festivities for today’s event included incredible bands, pig-roast, skateboarding demo, on-site vendors, silent auction, tattoo parlour, barber shop, children’s games and entertainment, face painting, bike detailing, special appearances by Darth Vader of the 501st Legion, Andrew the Crazy Canuck and Kyle Banta, along with representation and full resources from several local autism service providers and children’s charities. Proceeds raised from the event went towards making a difference in the lives of children, adults and families affected by Autism Spectrum Disorder in British Columbia.

We’d like to give a huge shout out and thank you to our two friends, Andrew the Crazy Canuck and Kyle Banta, for their continued support and helping us blow bubbles for everyone.

We’d also like to thank Sandra and her son, Justin of Jr Media Group - Justin Ruscheinski Photography, for their support as well and beautiful hearts promoting autism awareness, oh and blowing bubbles with us, too!

We had a blast blowing bubbles for everyone and hope everyone enjoyed our bubbles!

We sold out of our bubble blowers in 2 hours!

Today we blew bubbles and sold our bubble blowers at Sapperton Day Street Festival!

The Sapperton Day Street Festival is a non-profit community event put together by the Sapperton Business Association with some help from both the McBride Sapperton Business Association and Wesgroup Properties. This year was the the events 11th consecutive year after returning from a short hiatus. Sapperton Days has been around since the early 1970’s.

This was our first year participating at Sapperton Day Street Festival where we were blowing bubbles and selling our bubble blowers! Partial proceeds of our bubble blower sales benefited the Royal Columbian Hospital for critically needed equipment, research, and innovation to ensure the best medical standards for the future.

We sold out 2 hours into the event which brought in $135 dollars to the Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation! Oh, and if you left your name and number with us to get a bubble blower from our next order, partial proceeds from those sales will go to the RCH foundation too! Thank you everyone for your support!

Meanwhile, Daniel and Bryce were at the 6th Annual Vancouver Walk Now for Autism Speaks Kick Off event at Playland blowing bubbles and showing their support. However, the rain prevented them from going on any rides, so they were given one-day passes to go another day.

We’d like to thank our friends, Allie and Gilles, for helping us out today! Our booth was always busy and we couldn’t of done it without you guys! So thanks so much!

We’d also like to thank the Sapperton Day Street Festival and Sapperton community for welcoming us! We had a great time participating at this event and already looking forward to next year!
