As a mother, I will never give up on my child. As a mother of a child who has autism, I will never give up hope.
I look into his eyes and I see all the potential that he has to offer to this beautiful world and I just know that one day the world can see what I see.

Barbeque Sunday

Since it was nice out today, we decided to have a barbeque. Bryce helped us at the grocery store picking out what he wanted to eat. We find that when he picks his own food he will eat it. He carried one of the grocery bags in the house. He helped wash the mushrooms. He loves to help wherever he can.

One of the things Bryce loves to do is to mimic what others are doing. I was flipping the food on the grill and Bryce was outside participating. I closed the grill lid and then put my utensil down. Bryce put his utensil down. Before I went inside the house I dusted off my feet, and then Bryce did too. We walked to the kitchen with our arms waving together. I poured a glass of water from the cooler, drank it, and put the glass back. Bryce took the glass, poured a glass of water, and drank it. It’s quite cute how he will mimic your actions and how much fun he has. I asked Tanaya to take some pictures of us on the couch where Bryce had his legs crossed and arm up just like me, but once mommy was in the room he stopped the game, but we got some great pictures of him helping with the food.

It’s great that Bryce understands heat and flames, whenever some flames came up from the burgers he would always let me know, ‘that’s very hot, oh no.’ He also let us know the potato was very hot. He loves eating his potato, and his chicken burgers and even his mushrooms.

Altogether a fun Barbeque Sunday.

Daniel
